Energy & compute infrastructure · Emerging markets
Compute where the power is.
Anvil builds solar-powered data centers in the emerging markets the industry has written off: grids with power to spare, land to build on, and governments that want the load, with permits measured in months.
01 · The constraint
The world has power
it can't use. And demand
it can't meet.
AI wants more power than the grid can give. Data centers will use about 945 TWh a year by 2030, more than double today. In the US, over 2,000 GW is stuck waiting to connect, and that wait runs past five years.
Emerging markets have the opposite problem. Utilities pay for power nobody uses. In 2025, one government offered 2,000 MW of it to data centers in a single announcement.
Anvil brings the compute to the power. Solar on site. Storage on site. Racks on site. No queue.
02 · The playbook
Four moves. Every market.
Each Anvil site follows the same sequence, so the second site is faster than the first and the twentieth is a template.
Find stranded power
We map markets where generation outruns demand and storage: curtailed solar, under-used hydro, idle thermal plants, and grids that pay for electricity nobody draws. Then we go where the surplus is largest and the welcome is warmest.
Build generation and storage on site
Anvil develops its own solar and battery capacity beside each site, so every hall runs on firm, low-cost renewable power with the grid as backup. The host utility sells surplus it could never sell before. We buy it at a price nobody in Virginia will ever see.
Drop in modular compute
Prefabricated data halls arrive by truck and ship in 5 to 20 MW blocks. The first racks are live within months. Capacity grows by adding blocks beside the last one, with no second round of civil works.
Connect the country
Fiber to the nearest landing station, a local workforce trained on site, and reserved capacity for the host nation's own universities, agencies and startups. The town becomes a compute location. The country becomes a market.
03 · The scale
Measured in gigawatts.
These are the targets we hold ourselves to. They are ambitious on purpose: the opportunity is the size of every grid that has more power than customers.
Where others won't.
Every town with a surplus is a compute location. Every country is a market. The map of the world's compute is mostly blank, and we intend to fill it in.
04 · Partner
Bring Anvil to your grid.
We work with governments, utilities, independent power producers, landowners and investors. If you have surplus power, land near a substation, or capital for infrastructure that lasts decades, we want to hear from you.
Sell the surplus
Turn idle capacity into export revenue, sovereign compute and local jobs, on a timeline measured in months.
Build with an anchor
Co-develop solar, storage and sites with a long-term tenant who signs before the first panel goes in.
Own the hard assets
Back land, generation and halls that serve the fastest-growing load on earth, in markets with the least competition for it.
